What the last check found

BPI is the Bank of the Philippine Islands, a universal bank in Makati City regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas; its own homepage marks "175 years" in 2026, implying an 1851 founding (Antom's page says 1943 — treat that as the gateway's error). As a payment method it is not a scheme but one bank's own rail: the buyer is redirected to BPI's login, passes a login OTP, confirms the order and passes a payment OTP. That is why it exists only for Philippine buyers in PHP and only ever appears inside an aggregator's method list — there is no direct merchant integration documented anywhere public.

Three gateways document it. Antom publishes a dedicated BPI page (online banking, redirect, PH buyers, PHP processing, merchant entities SG/HK/US/UK/EEA): no minimum, 50,000 PHP per-day maximum, full and partial refunds within 365 days, 14-minute timeout, and explicitly no chargebacks, no tokenisation and no subscriptions. Xendit splits it in two channels: BPI Direct Debit (0.01–500,000 PHP, instant settlement, refunds including multiple partials within 30 days, no merchant-initiated transactions) and BPI_RECURRING (1–100,000 PHP, tokenised MIT for subscriptions, T+1 settlement, no refunds at all). dLocal names BPI among the banks behind its Philippine Direct Debit/auto-debit product but publishes no limits or flow detail for it specifically. Xendit also lists PH_BPI as a payout destination over InstaPay/PESONet, so the name covers pay-out as well as pay-in.

Documentation is silent on settlement currency, merchant pricing and dispute process, and the per-transaction ceilings contradict each other across gateways — confirm them with whichever one you integrate. Adyen, Airwallex, Stripe, Checkout.com and Rapyd do not document BPI at all.
