Play+

Play+ is not a bank rail or a cash network — it is a closed-loop prepaid wallet built for US regulated gambling, operated by Sightline Payments. The player enrols once (Nuvei's Web SDK flow shows the enrolment page asking for a Social Security Number), funds the wallet from a card, bank account, PayPal or cash at retail, and then spends that balance across sportsbooks, iCasino, state lotteries, horse racing and cashless slot/table play. Sightline's own site claims 44 states, 60+ gaming partners and 5m+ wallets; a 2022 release puts it at 80+ partners in over 40 states and dates the product to 2012. The physical cards are issued by GBank on Discover/PULSE, by Sutton Bank on Visa, and a Play+ Mastercard was launched in 2021 with Bank of George.

For an integrator the decisive source is Nuvei, which states plainly that "the Play+ payment method is supported only for US-based customers" and that "all amounts sent/received are stated in US Dollars (USD)" — so one country, one currency, no ambiguity. Nuvei supports deposit (`/payment`), payout (`/payout`, reusing the UPO from a prior payment) and `/refundTransaction`, plus a redirect `/fundAccount` flow to top the wallet up. Paysafe lists it under Wallets as "Play+ (Sightline)", hosted-page only, with withdrawals as STANDALONE_CREDIT.

Documentation is silent on recurring billing, partial refunds, chargeback/dispute handling and 3D Secure, and neither gateway publishes a state-by-state list — availability is per operator licence, so the 40-plus-states figures come only from Sightline's marketing. Play+ is absent from Adyen, Airwallex, Antom, Stripe, Checkout.com and Worldpay documentation, which is expected: it is a US iGaming-specific rail.
