What AstroPay costs

AstroPay quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.

What the last check found

AstroPay is a brand, not one licensed entity: at least six operating companies sit behind it, and which one a merchant faces decides how its money is held.

Larstal Limited (UK, 11970628) is the group parent — its filed accounts state "There are no parent companies", and the ultimate controlling parties are Andrés Bzurovski Bay and Sergio Enrique Fogel Kaplan, Uruguayan residents with equal shareholdings. There is therefore no corporate parent to record. The same pair are widely linked to dLocal; that is not verified here, and AstroPay is not a dLocal subsidiary. The AstroPay name first appears in a public register as ASTROPAY LLP, incorporated 11 June 2009 and renamed AP Global Corporation LLP in 2018, which is the basis for a founding year of 2009.

The UK authorisation is register-confirmed. FRN 901001 resolves to Larstal Limited, GU51 4DA, on the FCA's firm checker, which lists only firms that currently hold permission, and the FCA's published e-money register lists 901001 as Larstal Limited, Authorised Electronic Money Institution, effective 3 December 2019. This also settles a secondary source that gave 900901.

One lead is recorded here rather than as part of the authorisation, because no page states it that a reader could open. AstroPay's own announcement of 28 July 2025 says that Larstal Limited, operating as AstroPay UK, "entered into an updated voluntary undertaking with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)", that this "replaces the voluntary undertaking issued in April 2024", and that UK onboarding has resumed. It does not set out the terms of either undertaking. Press reports from April 2024 described the earlier undertaking as restricting the firm from taking new customer funds and from onboarding new UK customers without written consent, and as requiring relevant funds to be ring-fenced in a designated safeguarding account; none of those reports could be opened from here, and none of it appears on an FCA page. Voluntary undertakings are not published as FCA notices, and the Financial Services Register firm page that would carry any requirement renders only in JavaScript. The scope of Larstal's permission therefore cannot be stated from anything read here: anyone relying on it should open the Financial Services Register entry for FRN 901001 in a browser and read its requirements section.

The merchant-relevant split. EEA merchants contract with Larstal Denmark ApS, a Danish-authorised EMI whose terms promise funds held "in segregated accounts held by credit institutions in the European Economic Area"; its Danish reference 42457590 could not be resolved, so it is not recorded. Everyone else, which is most of the 44 countries on this listing, contracts with AstroPay Global (IOM) Limited, an Isle of Man Class 8 money transmission licensee. That is not an e-money licence: its merchant terms carry no safeguarding or segregation clause, permit payment from any bank account including affiliates', impose a 10% rolling reserve, and the firm states that customer money is protected by no compensation scheme. The Isle of Man licence 1399 and the designated-business registration are not recorded either, because the IOMFSA register refused the request outright.

Argentina's Conexión de Altura S.A. (CUIT 30-71745882-2, Mendoza) offers CVU accounts, which requires BCRA PSPCP registration, but bcra.gob.ar renders its register list client-side and the entry could not be retrieved, so it is left out rather than guessed. A Brazilian CNPJ was likewise not resolvable.
