What Alma costs

Alma quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.

What the last check found

Alma is a French instalment-payment provider — BNPL — run by Alma SAS of Neuilly-sur-Seine (RCS Nanterre 839 100 575), ACPR-approved since June 2021 as both a payment institution and a financing company. It reported profitability for 2025 on roughly EUR 2.5bn of gross volume and EUR 114m ARR across about 23,000 merchants, with Germany its fastest-growing market outside France.

The recorded home country is right; the recorded footprint is not. Alma's homepage and /global selector name eight markets; its own international pages, in two languages, say "available in 9 countries besides France" and add Austria and Ireland. Nothing on the site reconciles the two lists, so AT and IE are published but weaker-sourced than the other eight.

Currency is published nowhere as a list, and the reason is structural rather than negligent: the Alma API carries no currency field at all. Amounts are integers "en centimes", and all ten markets are in the eurozone. EUR is correct and is the only currency any gateway documents.

The product set is not uniform across markets. Pay in 2/3/4 is the base; Pay Later (D+15/D+30) is listed for BE, ES, DE, LU and AT; 10x/12x financing is Italy only, "coming soon" in ES and PT, and "on demand" in France. Read /global rather than assume parity.

Integration is direct and well documented: api.getalma.eu with a sandbox at api.sandbox.getalma.eu auto-provisioned on the same credentials, keys from dashboard.getalma.eu, plus plugins for Shopify, PrestaShop, Magento 2, WooCommerce, SFCC, Sylius, Shopware and NewCart, pay-by-link, and in-store via Ingenico Tetra and Adyen terminals. Pricing is public: no setup or monthly fee, 0.71% HT merchant-side on 2x.

The trap is the resellers. Alma is distributed through Stripe, Adyen, Mollie, Checkout.com, HiPay and Pay.nl, and each enables a narrower slice — Adyen and HiPay France only, Mollie FR+BE, Stripe six countries — with ceilings of EUR 2,000 or EUR 5,000 depending on route. Reaching all ten markets means contracting with Alma directly.
