Nuvei is a Canadian payment processor headquartered in Montreal. Philip Fayer founded it in 2003 as Pivotal Payments, and it grew mainly by acquisition, buying SafeCharge, Smart2Pay, Mazooma, Paymentez, the crypto on-ramp Simplex, the US processor Paya and Australia's Till Payments. After listings in Toronto and on Nasdaq, it was taken private by Advent International in a US$6.3bn deal completed in November 2024, with Fayer staying on as chair and chief executive. In June 2026 Nuvei agreed to buy Payoneer for about US$2.75bn, a deal not expected to close before mid-2027.
The offer to merchants is card acquiring plus one integration to a long catalogue of local methods. Nuvei quotes reach in more than 190 markets, local acquiring in 52, 150 currencies and over 720 alternative payment methods, although its developer documentation lists 117 currency codes. The catalogue runs from PayPal, Skrill and Apple Pay to PIX and Boleto in Brazil, OXXO and SPEI in Mexico, Interac in Canada, UPI in India and mobile money in West and East Africa. Its own acquiring recently extended to Colombia (2024), Canada and Japan (2025) and Mexico (2026). Payouts, card issuing, multi-currency accounts with European IBANs, crypto on- and off-ramps and USDC settlement run on the same platform.
Licensing is broad: e-money institutions in the UK, Cyprus and Lithuania, a Dutch payment institution, a MiCA crypto-asset licence in Lithuania, a major payment institution licence in Singapore, an Australian financial services licence and US money transmitter licences in 39 jurisdictions.
The platform is aimed at mid-sized and large merchants selling across borders, with particular depth in regulated online gaming and sports betting, financial services, travel, marketplaces and digital goods. There is no general price list (a card rate table for Peru, required by the regulator there, is the exception), and its public payment-method directory contains some stale entries, so confirm specific methods and countries with sales before signing.

Nuvei quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.

What the last check found
Recheck against Nuvei's own documentation, which turns out to publish the most complete coverage data of any provider in this directory — and to publish it as a downloadable spreadsheet, which is why nobody quotes it. The file behind its APM countries-and-currencies page lists 499 alternative payment methods, each with its currencies, its countries, and whether it supports deposits, refunds and withdrawals. It was last revised in January 2026.
Of those 499, 472 take deposits, 254 support refunds and only 121 support withdrawals. That ratio is the useful number and no marketing page carries it: a method a merchant can collect with is usually not a method it can refund with, and far more often not one it can pay out with. 241 of the 499 map to methods already named in this directory and are recorded here; the remainder are mostly channel-level variants of the same method — the same Thai bank offered separately over ATM, bank counter and internet banking — which belong in an integration guide rather than a method list.
The 113 currencies are that spreadsheet's currency column, less six codes that no longer exist as currencies (the old Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian units, the pre-redenomination Belarusian rouble, the pre-redenomination Venezuelan bolívar, and a non-ISO code for the Israeli shekel) — a sign the file has grown by accretion rather than being rebuilt.
No country rows are claimed, deliberately. The spreadsheet's country column contains 248 ISO codes, which is very nearly every country and territory on earth, because its globally available methods are each listed against everywhere. Reading that as an operating footprint would be the single most misleading number this directory could publish, so the existing country rows are left as they are.

Pricing, in detail
No general public price list; pricing is quoted per merchant after underwriting. The only published rates found are Nuvei Peru's regulator-mandated card discount-rate table (BCRP Circular 0027-2022, period February 2026), showing card MDRs of 2.10%-3.99% depending on merchant segment. Third-party review sites quote US figures (e.g. from 2.25% + $0.30) that could not be verified with Nuvei.
