What the last check found
BBVA Continental is not a payment method in its own right — it is a bank, and a retired brand at that. Banco Continental (founded 1951, Lima) merged with Banco Bilbao Vizcaya in 1995 to become BBVA Continental, and on 10 June 2019 BBVA unified its brand worldwide and renamed it simply BBVA (BBVA Perú). Anyone integrating today meets it under the current name.
It reaches a payments directory only as a payout destination. dLocal's Peru payouts v3 reference carries a bank-code table whose row 011 is still labelled "BBVA Continental", with PEN and USD both ticked and mobile wallets marked unsupported; dLocal requires country PE, currency PEN (USD via currency_to_pay), and a beneficiary document type of DNI, RUC, CE or PASS. EBANX's Peru payouts page lists the same institution at the same code 011 under the modern name "BBVA Perú", with PEN.
Nothing documents it as a pay-in method. dLocal's Peru pay-in page offers PagoEfectivo, BCP, Payvalida, Yape, Yape Recurring and LigoPay — no BBVA. EBANX's Peru overview offers cards, PagoEfectivo, SafetyPay, Yape and stablecoins. The Adyen, Airwallex, Antom and Stripe catalogues contain no BBVA entry and almost nothing Peruvian at all. So there is no BBVA Continental checkout button to build against: it is a bank you send money to, selected by bank code inside a generic Peruvian bank-transfer payout, not a redirect a shopper picks.
Documentation is silent on refunds, chargebacks, recurring and 3-D Secure — expected, since none apply to a payout rail — and no gateway publishes per-bank limits or settlement timing.

- dLocal — Peru Payouts (v3) · docs.dlocal.comUsed for The only gateway page naming "BBVA Continental" verbatim: bank-code table row "BBVA Continental" = code 011, supports PEN and USD, does not support mobile wallets. Also the source for country PE ("For Peru, use PE"), currency PEN ("Payout currency. For Peru, use PEN"), USD via currency_to_pay, the payouts/withdrawals feature (BANK_TRANSFER payouts), and the beneficiary document types DNI/RUC/CE/PASS.Checked 20 October 2026
- EBANX — Countries: Peru (Payouts) · docs.ebanx.comUsed for Second gateway documenting the same institution as a payout destination, under its current name: "011: BBVA Perú" in the Peru payout bank list, currency PEN, bank-transfer payouts. Confirms the bank code 011 matches dLocal and that EBANX uses the post-2019 name, not "BBVA Continental".Checked 20 October 2026
- dLocal — Peru (pay-in payment methods) · docs.dlocal.comUsed for Negative evidence that it is not a pay-in method: dLocal's Peru pay-in methods are Pago Efectivo (EF), BCP (BC), Payvalida (IO), Yape (YP), Yape Recurring (YE) and LigoPay (LY). No BBVA entry. Also the source for Peru = PE / PEN with optional USD charging.Checked 20 October 2026
- EBANX — Peru country overview · docs.ebanx.comUsed for Negative evidence: EBANX's Peru pay-in methods are credit card, debit card, PagoEfectivo, Safety Pay, Yape, Yape Recurring and stablecoins; accepted currencies PEN, USD. No BBVA named anywhere, and no bank list published for its bank-transfer or cash methods.Checked 20 October 2026
- BBVA Perú · en.wikipedia.orgUsed for Identity and the brand history: Peruvian bank founded 1951 as Banco Continental, renamed BBVA Continental on the 1995 merger with Banco Bilbao Vizcaya, renamed BBVA on 10 June 2019 when BBVA unified its brand worldwide; owned via Holding Continental (92.08%), headquartered San Isidro, Lima, regulated by the SBS.Checked 20 October 2026
- Adyen — Payment methods catalog · docs.adyen.comUsed for Negative evidence across the largest gateway catalog: no BBVA or BBVA Continental method; the only entry listing Peru (PE) is PaySafeCard. Read in full across both halves of the page.Checked 20 October 2026
- Stripe — Payment method support · docs.stripe.comUsed for Negative evidence: zero occurrences of "BBVA", "Continental", "Peru" or "PEN" in the full fetched page.Checked 20 October 2026
- Airwallex — Payment methods · airwallex.comUsed for Negative evidence: no BBVA or BBVA Continental; no method with presentment currency PEN; Paysafecard is the only method listing PE as a shopper location.Checked 20 October 2026
- Antom — Payment methods · docs.antom.comUsed for Negative evidence: no BBVA or BBVA Continental across the full page; the only Peru entries are Peruvian cards (buyer country Peru, processing currency PEN) and Mercado Pago (includes Peru/PEN).Checked 20 October 2026
- dLocal — docs index (llms.txt) · docs.dlocal.comUsed for Establishes "nobody publishes more" rather than "I could not find it" for dLocal: the index lists exactly two Peru pages, docs/peru.md (pay-in) and docs/peru-payouts-v3.md (payouts). The payouts bank table is therefore dLocal's complete published surface for BBVA Continental, and the absence of BBVA from the pay-in page cannot be an artefact of an unread dLocal page.Checked 20 October 2026
