What InstaDebit costs
InstaDebit quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.

What the last check found
InstaDebit was a Canadian online bank-transfer method with a wallet layer on top, live from 2003. A shopper chose it at checkout, was redirected to instadebit.com, signed in or registered mid-transaction, and authorised a pre-authorised debit against a Canadian chequing account under Payments Canada (CPA) Rule H1. Registration demanded the last four digits of a Social Insurance Number plus a sub-$2.00 micro-deposit to verify the account and lift the opening limit — unusually heavy KYC for a bank-transfer APM, and much of why gambling operators liked it. Consumers paid the visible fee: $1.95 CAD per deposit, $2.00 CAD to withdraw from the InstaDebit balance back to a bank. It claimed coverage of every Canadian bank and financial institution.
It is now defunct. The live site is a login wall carrying a wind-down notice — last deposit 27 February 2026, withdrawals until 30 April 2026, residual balances swept to the linked bank account after 28 days of inactivity, with Interac named as the replacement. Every content path (merchants.jsp, faqs.jsp, how-it-works.jsp) 301-redirects to the consumer login, there is no sitemap.xml and no llms.txt, and robots.txt is a one-line stub. So instadebit.com publishes nothing about coverage today; it published both country and currency scope until the shutdown, and those pages survive only in the Internet Archive. The merchant gateway at /instadebit/merGateway.do still answers and still validates its parameters ("Merchant ID must be between 5 and 8 digits"), but only to return the same notice.
Two things matter for anyone holding a historical integration. This was never a guaranteed push payment: Worldpay classifies it as a bank transfer where "payments are not guaranteed and a chargeback/dispute process is available to shoppers" — closer to ACH/PAD than to Interac e-Transfer. And the operator was Malta-registered (Instadebit International Solutions Ltd., Sliema/Gżira) despite a wholly Canadian product. Do not merge with iDebit (iDebit Payments Inc.) or Citadel Instant Banking: separate companies, same niche. Also beware the brand's own 2011–2013 "Insta Debit" global gateway, which advertised 32 countries across Europe and Latin America and excluded Canada — same domain, different defunct product, and an easy way to inflate this row.

- Insta Debit — Coverage and Services (archived 2013-06-13) · web.archive.orgUsed for The name-collision / inflation trap I am flagging: the same brand ran a separate "Insta Debit" global debit gateway advertising "Real time and local banking services in 32 countries" across Europe and Latin America, Australia and New Zealand — a list that does not include Canada. - Instadebit > Log In (live redirect target, raw HTML meta tags) · instadebit.comUsed for The actual live location of the coverage claim the record attributes to https://www.instadebit.com, which 301s here. Raw HTML contains verbatim: <meta content='Instadebit Inc. is a secure, bank-based payment method available to consumers in Canada. The website includes information about how to use Instadebit and answers to frequently asked questions about the service.'> plus keywords '...Canadian payments, Instadebit Canada'. Critically, the sibling tag reads <meta content='Copyright© 2013 InstaDebit Services Inc.' name='copyright'> — naming the SAME entity as the 2013 global-gateway page footer, which disproves the record's 'name collision' framing. Also the sole live support for publishes_coverage, and it is only a meta tag on a login wall.Checked 20 October 2026
- Paysafe Developer — llms.txt (full documentation index) · developer.paysafe.comUsed for Negative/under-claim evidence, obtained the sanctioned way (llms.txt rather than guessed paths). Zero occurrences of 'InstaDebit' across Paysafe's entire 27KB doc index; its Canadian method is 'Payments API: Interac e-Transfer — Covers enabling Interac e-Transfer transactions in Canada'. Independently consistent with InstaDebit's wind-down notice naming Interac as the replacement, and confirms no gateway documents InstaDebit in markets beyond Canada.Checked 20 October 2026

Followed the index to wp-sitemap-posts-page-1.xml, wp-sitemap-posts-manual_kb-1.xml and wp-sitemap-posts-manual_documentation-1.xml; no InstaDebit page exists in Nuvei's documentation. Establishes that Worldpay/FIS is the only surviving independent gateway doc for this method, and it states Canada only.Checked 20 October 2026
