Merchants do not pay Interac e-Transfer® directly. Each payment provider that offers it sets its own rate, so compare a few and ask them to quote.
What the last check found
Interac e-Transfer is a specific branded product of Interac Corp. (registered trademark, "Interac e-Transfer®"), not a generic category like "Bank transfer" — so it is eligible to inherit stated coverage.
The matcher only matched the token "interac", which is weak: Nuvei's APM sheet contains FIVE distinct Interac-family methods, all CAD/CA, which are NOT the same product — `apmgw_Interac` (Interac Online), `apmgw_Interac_Combined`, `apmgw_Interac_eTransfer`, `apmgw_INTERAC_Instant`, `apmgw_Interac_DI`. PaymentsDatabase already files four of them separately (`interac`, `interac-online`, `interac-instant`, `interac-combined` all exist in data/method-countries.json), so a token match alone could easily have landed on the wrong row.
It did not. Row 241 of the matched spreadsheet is exactly `Interac_eTransfer` / `apmgw_Interac_eTransfer` — Deposit TRUE, Refund FALSE, Withdraw TRUE, Supported Currencies "CAD", Supported Countries "CA". I parsed the .xlsx directly (unzipped the OOXML, resolved sharedStrings) rather than guessing, so that is the literal cell content.
Corroborated on Nuvei's HTML guide at docs.nuvei.com/documentation/us-and-canada-guides/interac-etransfer/, which names the same `paymentMethod` value `apmgw_Interac_eTransfer` and states "Supported Countries: Canada" and "Supported Currencies: CAD" — one country, one currency, no table, nothing wider. The page also describes it as linking "any number of their Canadian bank accounts to their email address", which matches Interac Corp.'s own description of the consumer product.
So: CA / CAD, from two independent Nuvei surfaces that agree. This matches what the database already holds (1 country, 1 currency) — no change in coverage, but the rows now have a gateway source that states them rather than being unsourced.
One thing worth flagging to the importer, not acted on here: Nuvei's docs note that `apmgw_Interac_Combined` deliberately merges Interac Online and e-Transfer into one checkout, and that the account-details-capture list labels the e-Transfer method "Interac eCashout". Neither should be folded into this slug — they are separate Nuvei methods with separate guides. The `interac-e-transfer` slug is also absent from data/method-countries.json while its four siblings are present; that gap is pre-existing and is a candidate for a follow-up, since CA is now sourced.
