Pay4Fun is a São Paulo e-wallet and gateway built for Brazilian online betting, operated by Pay4Fun Instituição de Pagamento S.A. and led by co-founder and CEO Leonardo Baptista. Founded 2018; authorized by the Central Bank of Brazil as a payment institution in July 2022, which the company presents as a first for the iGaming segment. Company-stated scale as of mid-2024: integration with more than 500 gambling sites and over 2 million users, plus processing for the Paraíba state lotteries.
Mechanically it is a closed-loop wallet, not a bank rail. The customer registers, funds the wallet (boleto, cards and online banking per Akurateco; Pix and bank-transfer initiation are described for the Pay4Fun GO gateway), then pushes funds to a licensed operator. Nuvei's docs confirm the integration shape: e-wallet, Brazil only, with the end user's CPF a required field (pay4funId) alongside the wallet e-mail, and refunds and recurring both unsupported. Pay4Fun's own plugin says the same from its side — no pay-out through the integration, only from the Back Office.
The currency detail is worth carrying: payments are accepted in BRL, USD, EUR and GBP, but the merchant account is always BRL.
Integration is direct but gated, not self-serve: e-mail [email protected], complete KYC, sign a contract, then collect Back Office credentials for the "conventional API" or the WooCommerce plugin. That plugin is official but stale — last updated November 2020, tested only to WordPress 5.5.
Where the documentation is silent is p4f.com itself. Every host under it, robots.txt and sitemap.xml included, returns an Akamai "Access Denied" 403 from outside Brazil, and docs.pay4fun.com is a GitBook space that redirects to a sign-in. The API reference is therefore not public: every verifiable technical fact above comes from third-party PSP docs or the company's own plugin readme. Treat the widely repeated 5% / 1% fee figures as unverified.
