What the last check found
Banco Bolivariano C.A. is a private universal bank in Ecuador, headquartered in Guayaquil with offices in Quito and Cuenca, offering retail and corporate banking plus the 24online / 24movil digital channels. It is a bank, not a payment scheme, and that distinction matters for anyone treating this listing as a "payment method".
Only one gateway documents it: dLocal, and only on the payout side. dLocal's Ecuador payouts (v3) reference lists "Banco Bolivariano" with bank code 037 in the table of values for beneficiary.bank_account.code, for country EC in USD via payment_method_id BANK_TRANSFER, across B2C, B2B and P2P/remittance flows, to CHECKING or SAVINGS accounts. The honest description is therefore: a payout destination bank reachable through an aggregator and addressed by a three-digit code, not a consumer checkout button.
There is no documented pay-in rail. dLocal's Ecuador pay-in page lists only cards, Pago Efectivo (cash ticket) and Deuna (QR wallet) — no bank transfer and no named banks. EBANX's Ecuador overview lists only credit card, debit card and SafetyPay; its SafetyPay page says the shopper is redirected to "their bank's online banking platform" but never names participating banks, so Banco Bolivariano's likely presence inside SafetyPay cannot be verified from documentation. Adyen's and Antom's catalogues show no Ecuador coverage at all, Rapyd's Americas page omits Ecuador, and Checkout.com's bank-payout field formatting covers only Europe, the UK and the US.
Documentation is silent on refunds, recurring, chargebacks and 3D Secure — none of which apply to a payout destination. dLocal also warns that its list "includes the main banks in Ecuador. For a complete list, please contact your dLocal point of contact", so code 037 is confirmed but the published directory is not exhaustive.
