What the last check found
A specific institution, not a category: Ecuador's second-largest private bank (es.wikipedia: founded 1923 as Sociedad Anónima Banco Italiano, "Banco de Guayaquil" from 1941, renamed Banco Guayaquil in 2014; USD 8.7bn assets in 2024). Ecuador is dollarised, so USD is the only currency any source shows.
It is not one payment method but one bank brand wearing three hats, and an integrator should know which they are buying. (1) Online-banking redirect: Kushki's Ecuador docs list "Banco de Guayaquil" as one of just two named banks for traditional transfers, 1–10,000 USD, with the shopper redirected to the bank to authorise a debit — and warn there is no request parameter to select the processor, so routing is account configuration, not API. (2) Cash at branch: Kushki's authorized-locations page lists "Banco Guayaquil" as a cash collection network in USD with no stated min or max; Banco del Barrio, listed separately at 500 USD max, is Banco Guayaquil's own correspondent-agent programme. PayRetailers' Ecuador market page likewise carries banco-guayaquil under both Cash and Online. (3) Payout destination: dLocal gives it bank code 017 for Ecuador payouts in USD.
Reachable only through aggregators — and few of them. Adyen, Stripe, Airwallex and Rapyd document no Ecuadorian methods at all; EBANX's Ecuador overview offers only cards and SafetyPay; dLocal's Ecuador pay-in page has no bank redirect. Documentation is silent on refunds, recurring and chargebacks for the transfer and cash rails; Kushki confines refund guidance to cards.
