What the last check found

Oney 3x 4x is Oney Bank's interest-free split-card product: the shopper pays in 3 or 4 instalments on a Visa, Mastercard or Cartes Bancaires card, and the lender carries the credit risk. Oney Bank S.A. is a French bank in Lille (RCS Lille Metropole 546 380 197), owned 50.1% by Groupe BPCE and 49.9% by ELO (ex-Auchan Holding). It created French paiement fractionne in 2008 and calls itself the country's BNPL leader.

Two gateways document it and they disagree on footprint. Worldline lists nine countries — Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain — and three currencies (EUR, HUF, RON), with paymentProductId 5110 for the pair, 5111 for Oney 3x and 5112 for Oney 4x. Adyen documents only France, Spain and Italy in EUR, under the legacy FacilyPay brand: txVariants facilypay_3x and facilypay_4x. Adyen also sells 6x/10x/12x, which are separate longer-term products; Worldline files those under a distinct "Oney financement long" page.

Both are redirect flows and both state full and partial refunds. Adyen explicitly marks recurring and chargebacks unsupported, permits separate and partial captures, and warns that authorisation expires if capture is later than six days. Worldline by contrast allows Direct Sale only (requiresApproval must be false) — a real integration difference, not a doc gap. Neither publishes live minimum or maximum amounts; Worldline tells merchants to agree limits with the provider. Onboarding is not self-serve on either: you sign a contract with Oney and hand the resulting MID to the gateway.

One documentation defect: Worldline's page calls this "an instalment solution offered by the French acquirer Thunes" and sends shoppers to a "Thunes portal", while its own onboarding steps say to sign with Oney and its paymentOption is "PROVIDED FOR YOUR MERCHANT ID BY ONEY". Treat the Thunes attribution as an error. Stripe, Airwallex, Antom, Mollie, Checkout.com, dLocal and Rapyd do not document Oney at all.

Checked again on 2026-10-21 and corrected: Branded product, not a category: Oney 3x/4x is Oney Bank's paiement fractionne split-card product. Identity settled and verified verbatim on oney.com: "Oney bank S.A au capital de 71 801 205 EUR", "RSC Lille Metropole 546 380 197", "BPCE (50,1%) et de ELO (ex-Auchan Holding a 49,9%)".

  6. Stripe payment method support matrix · docs.stripe.comcountriescurrenciesmethodsintegrationsUsed for Negative evidence: Oney does not appear anywhere in Stripe's country/currency, product or API support tables, while the comparable French BNPL rail Alma does (EUR, FR business and FR customer) — supporting the finding that Oney is reachable only through Adyen and Worldline among the matrices checked.Checked 20 October 2026
  7. Oney via Thunes - Cybersource Developer Documentation · developer.cybersource.comcountriescurrenciesmethodscapabilitiesintegrationsvolumesUsed for Adding Netherlands (NL) to the country rows: its "Supported Countries and Currencies" table for Oney lists Belgium BE, France FR, Italy IT, Netherlands NL, Portugal PT and Spain ES, all in EUR, with "You must have a merchant ID and a Thunes API key for each country in which you process transactions". Also refutes the record's claim that Worldline's Thunes attribution is a documentation error, by stating "Oney is a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) payment method offered by the Thunes payment service provider (PSP)" - confirming Thunes genuinely distributes Oney and that only Worldline's "French acquirer" descriptor is wrong. Also refutes the Stripe source's assertion that Oney is reachable only via Adyen and Worldline.Checked 21 October 2026
