Sezzle is a US buy now, pay later company founded in Minneapolis in 2016 by Charlie Youakim, Paul Paradis and four colleagues. It first listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2019 and is now traded on Nasdaq as SEZL. For 2025 it reported revenue of $450.3 million on about $3.9 billion of merchandise volume, with paid consumer subscriptions such as Sezzle Premium and Sezzle Anywhere driving much of the growth.
US shoppers can choose Pay in 4, with a quarter due at checkout and three more payments every two weeks, Pay in 5, or longer monthly instalments at APRs of up to 35.99%. Some plans now carry a service fee for the shopper. Most of these loans are issued by WebBank. The merchant gets paid up front, and Sezzle takes the fraud and chargeback risk on orders that ship and arrive. Sezzle Anywhere stretches the product to any US shop that takes Visa, and in April 2026 a virtual card built with Marqeta brought in-store spending to Canada, where Sezzle counts 1.9 million sign-ups.
Integration routes include a direct API with sandbox and webhooks, plugins for Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento 2 and Wix, a virtual-card option that runs Sezzle through an existing card gateway, an in-store flow that texts or emails a checkout link to the customer, and on-site messaging widgets. Sezzle does not publish merchant rates. BigCommerce's guide says pricing starts at 6% and is set per merchant, with funds available the next day.
Sezzle fits retailers selling to consumers in the US and Canada that want to offer instalments without carrying the credit risk themselves. It does not serve merchants outside those two countries. In the US its lending runs under state licences grouped under NMLS ID 1950862, so the plans a shopper sees can differ by state.

What Sezzle costs
Sezzle quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.

Pricing, in detail
Sezzle publishes no merchant price list. BigCommerce's integration guide says pricing starts at 6% and is set per merchant; review sites cite 6% + $0.30. Neither is from Sezzle, so no figures are recorded.
What the last check found
Sezzle is not a method term in the taxonomy, so it is proposed in new_terms and methods is left empty. No PSP documentation listing Sezzle as a payment method was found (it is added through its own plugins or Shopify's alternative-payments settings), so supported_by is empty. BigCommerce's guide lists 14 merchant countries for Sezzle, which conflicts with Sezzle's own US/Canada footprint (WooCommerce's doc says US and Canada only); only US and CA are recorded. Canadian licences or registrations were not found. The California licence number is recorded as shown on Sezzle's page ("60DB0", which is probably 60DBO); the Missouri, Kansas, Ohio and other state licences are on the same page. No merchant count from Sezzle was found; Wikipedia, citing a 2024 short-seller report, says merchant numbers fell to about 23,000 by Q3 2024 from 48,000 in 2021. The founders are given as six people on Wikipedia; only two are named in the description. Web searches ran out mid-task, so Sezzle's 10-K was not checked for subsidiaries or a parent entity.
