Zimpler is an open-banking pioneer and mobile-first payment method tailored for swift, secure bank payments primarily in Nordic markets with support for SEK, EUR and regional currencies. What Zimpler costs
Zimpler quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.

Zimpler is Zimpler AB (organisation number 556887-9984, Vasagatan 10, Stockholm), an authorised Swedish payment institution — not an e-money institution and not a bank, so merchant funds sit in safeguarded client accounts under the Payment Services Act (2010:751) rather than on a balance sheet with deposit-guarantee cover.
Finansinspektionen's company register gives institute number 44018, LEI 894500QQ0R50KZ8VOY20, register status active since 2012-12-03, and four permissions: executing payment transactions and executing them through a credit line, both granted 1 February 2019, plus PSD2 payment initiation and account information services, both granted 13 August 2019. The payment-initiation permission is the core of the product — Zimpler is pay-by-bank, initiating from the payer's own bank rather than holding cards.
A 25-country footprint resolves as passporting plus Brazil. FI lists cross-border notifications for 17 EEA states (AT, DE, DK, ES, FI, FR, IT, MT, NL, PT, NO, LT, PL, EE, LV, BE, CY), all under the single Swedish licence, so for EEA merchants the regulator of record is Finansinspektionen rather than the local authority.
Brazil is a genuinely separate licence-holder: ZIMPLER BRASIL INSTITUICAO DE PAGAMENTO LTDA., CNPJ 44704839, São Paulo, in the segment "Instituição de Pagamento" on the BCB's register of institutions operating in the country, with Pix participant authorisation announced 2025-11-03. Brazilian merchant funds therefore sit with the Brazilian entity under BCB rules, not with Zimpler AB. That CNPJ is not recorded as an authorisation here: the page it was cited from is a register index rather than a record, and the number could not be resolved there. The entity does not appear in the Open Finance Brasil participant directory either — 210 participants, no match — despite the framing of the June 2025 press release.
Ownership changed recently. TrueLayer completed its acquisition on 2026-03-03 with Finansinspektionen's approval and states that Zimpler keeps its own Swedish licence. TrueLayer Ltd publishes FCA FRN 901096 on its legal page, and the FCA's firm checker gives 901096 as TrueLayer Limited, truelayer.com, EC2A 1PX, currently holding permission. That is the parent's licence, not Zimpler's, so it is recorded here only as context.
