What the last check found
Lotte is a card issuer, not an independent rail. Antom's enumeration reference lists it as card brand `LOTTE`, payment method region `KR`, issuing country South Korea — a value for `selectedCardBrand` on the pay API, used to skip Antom's issuer-selection page. It is reachable only through the "South Korean cards" method, whose documented processing currency is KRW and whose buyer country is South Korea; Antom acquires it from SG, HK, US, EEA and UK merchant entities. Toss Payments lists 롯데카드 as code `71` / `LOTTE` among domestic card companies, and PortOne gives the KFTC institution code `368`.
Capabilities belong to the method, not the brand: refunds and partial refunds (365-day window) and chargeback/dispute are supported, and Antom states recurring/MIT is **not** supported for Korean cards — a hard constraint for subscriptions. Installments run 2–12 months on transactions of 50,000 KRW or more; Antom's October 2026 table gives Lotte 2–3 months interest-free, excluding debit, prepaid, corporate and gift cards. Antom also publishes per-issuer transaction limits for top-up and gaming merchants: Lotte shows a 500,000 daily limit for both, with no stated single-transaction or monthly cap.
Checkout uses Korea's own issuer-authentication redirect (bank page, app, CVC, SMS OTP or ARS call), not 3-D Secure; Antom does not state 3DS, and documents no payouts.
Two things are unstated. No gateway publishes a Lotte-only country or currency row — KRW comes from the parent method. And "Lotte" must not be conflated with L.Pay, which Toss lists separately as `LPAY` under simple-pay wallets. Adyen's entire docs corpus, Airwallex's matrix, Stripe, Mollie, dLocal, EBANX, Rapyd and Worldline name no Lotte; Adyen and Airwallex expose Korean cards only as an undifferentiated redirect method.
Checked again on 2026-10-21 and corrected: Coverage (KR / KRW) survives and is now better sourced than the record itself claimed. The write-up contains one refuted factual claim that should be fixed before publishing.
Checked against Lotte’s own documentation on 21 October 2026. Coverage changes; confirm anything you are about to build on.
