What MoMo Wallet costs

MoMo Wallet quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.

What the last check found

This listing had two unrelated companies fused into it, and both reviewers of the last check said so independently before either saw the other's answer.

MoMo is M_Service Joint Stock Company's Vietnamese e-wallet, at momo.vn — the largest in Vietnam, licensed by the State Bank of Vietnam, used for QR payments, bill payments, transport and in-app purchases, and offered as a checkout method by most providers selling into Vietnam. Vietnam and the dong are the whole of its footprint.

What the listing actually held was MTN Group's African mobile money: eighteen countries from Benin to Zambia and eight currencies, and a website pointing at momo.mtn.com. Those are two different businesses that happen to have chosen the same four letters. MTN's MoMo already has its own listing in this directory, which is where that footprint belongs and where it has been left; this one has been corrected to Vietnam, and the eighteen countries and eight currencies have been removed with the removal logged and reversible.

It is the third time this pattern has turned up in one week of rechecking — Tpay was filed as Turkish when tpay.com is a Polish gateway, T-Money as South Korean when the listing pointed at Togocom in Togo, and now MoMo as African when it is Vietnamese. Each one is a directory confidently telling a merchant it can reach a market it cannot. The common tell is a mismatch between the website on the listing and the country on it, which is cheap to check and worth checking everywhere.

For integration: a merchant does not integrate MoMo through MTN's developer portal, which is the African product. It reaches the Vietnamese wallet through a provider that has licensed it locally, and the providers in this directory that list it as a method are the place to start.
