CoinPayments has processed cryptocurrency payments for online merchants since 2013. The operating company, COINPAYMENTS Inc., is a Cayman Islands exempted company, and custodial wallet and virtual-asset services are run by PaidInSatoshi Inc. in Panama City and, for US customers, by Centauri Pay LLC in Jersey City, New Jersey. It claims more than $50 billion in processed volume and over 250,000 partners in 180-plus countries, figures it does not break down.
Merchants take payments through a hosted checkout, an API or ready-made plug-ins. It lists 31 of these, from WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, OpenCart, BigCommerce and Shopware to billing tools such as WHMCS and Blesta. Accepted coins include Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, XRP, Monero, Dash, TRON, BNB, Polygon and Solana, plus the stablecoins USDT and USDC. The homepage puts the total at more than 40 cryptocurrencies, and the coins page says over 100 can be used for payment. Funds can stay in crypto, be converted to stablecoins or be withdrawn to a bank account, and the platform also handles outbound payments, treasury custody and escrow.
The published processing fee is 3% per payment for both coins and tokens, with adjustments for high-risk industries. Network fees are passed on when funds go to an external wallet, and a nightly batch mode spreads one network fee across the day's settlement. Accounts opened before 2025 stay on a legacy platform with its own tools.
The company names iGaming, e-commerce, luxury retail, luxury travel and financial services such as FX brokers as its target sectors. Its website names no licensing regulator or registration number, so regulated merchants should ask for licence details during onboarding. Services are unavailable in 15 sanctioned or high-risk jurisdictions, among them Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela and Myanmar.

What CoinPayments costs
CoinPayments quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile โ so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.
- Settlement
- Per payment (ASAP) or nightly batch to a crypto wallet; fiat withdrawal to a bank account available
Pricing, in detail
3% payment fee for coins and tokens ('starting at 3%'), adjusted for high-risk industries. ASAP mode: 3% plus a network fee per payment; nightly mode: 3% plus one network fee per batch. No CoinPayments withdrawal fee, but blockchain network fees apply on external sends. Personal-wallet deposits free up to $15,000 a month, then 3%.
What the last check found
Founded 2013 per CoinPayments' own footer and '13+ years' claim; no independent source was found for founders or operating HQ (search budget for this run ran out), so hq_country is null. COINPAYMENTS Inc. is described as a Cayman Islands exempted company; PaidInSatoshi Inc. (Panama) and Centauri Pay LLC (New Jersey, also spelt 'Centuari' on the site) provide custodial services. No licence or registration is named anywhere on the site, so regulation is empty; any FinCEN or state registration of Centauri Pay LLC was not checked. The 3% fee comes from the legacy site's coin and fee pages (marked 'starting at 3%'); the new platform's pricing was not seen, and the figure is high for crypto processing, so a reviewer may want to confirm it. Countries supported left empty: the 180+ countries claim has no list; the 15 restricted jurisdictions are recorded. Ether Classic (ETC) is accepted but has no taxonomy currency code. Self-reported claims ($50B+ volume, 250,000+ partners) are attributed in the description.
