What UnionPay costs
Merchants do not pay UnionPay directly. Each payment provider that offers it sets its own rate, so compare a few and ask them to quote.

Nuvei's integration data records this as an acceptance method rather than a payout rail: it takes payments and supports refunds, but money cannot be sent out through it. The distinction matters because a "supported payment methods" list treats paying in and paying out as the same thing, and for most local rails they are not — of the methods checked in this pass, far more accept money than return it.
The gateways that carry this method do not agree on where it works, and each is right about itself. Adyen documents it in the United Arab Emirates, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil and 36 more, while Nuvei documents it in China. A gateway states the markets where IT has licensed and built the rail, not the markets where the rail exists, so the union recorded here — the United Arab Emirates, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil, Canada, Switzerland, China, Cyprus and 33 more — is what somebody could reach across providers, not what any one of them will give you. Which countries you actually get depends on who you sign with.
Adyen files it under "Credit and debit cards", and states it supports 3D Secure, Chargebacks, Delayed captures, Disputes, Multiple partial refunds, Partial captures, Partial refunds, Recurring, Recurring payments and Separate captures. Its catalog is the one place in this industry that publishes a method's countries, its processing currencies and its settlement currencies separately, which is the difference between what a customer can be charged in and what a merchant can be paid in.
One constraint that is easy to miss: a provider documenting this method also states where the MERCHANT has to be incorporated for it to be offered — Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States. Where a shopper can pay from and where a business can be registered are different questions, and it is the second one that decides whether you can sign at all.
This pass adds coverage rather than confirming it: the listing held 0 countries and the gateway documentation states 43. Nothing was removed — the earlier rows stand — but the figure now has a source behind it.
