Volt is a London account-to-account payments company, incorporated in August 2019. Among its founders is Tom Greenwood, who earlier set up the currency business IFX Payments. Volt sells one API that sits on top of national real-time payment schemes: the shopper approves the payment in their banking app and the money arrives in the merchant's Volt account, in seconds where the scheme allows. Volt Technologies Limited holds an FCA e-money licence (firm reference 982594), and the EU business is a Polish national payment institution supervised by the KNF.
Its market coverage page names 31 European countries, most of them on SEPA Instant, with Faster Payments in the UK and local schemes such as Express Elixir in Poland. Outside Europe, Volt has offered Pix in Brazil since opening a São Paulo office in November 2021, and in Australia it handles PayTo mandates, PayID and instant NPP payouts. It quotes about 1,900 connected banks and 12 currencies. Alongside pay-ins come refunds, payouts, per-customer virtual IBANs, multi-currency Volt accounts and account-verification checks.
Volt markets itself to three groups. iGaming operators use it for instant deposits and withdrawals, and its Polish entity also holds a Class II licence from Romania's gambling regulator. Crypto platforms use virtual IBANs to match deposits to users, and retailers such as Farfetch have added it as a checkout option. Merchants can connect through the API, a hosted checkout, pay-by-link, a Shopify app or a Shopware plugin.
There are no cards and no public price list, so expect to negotiate. Pay by bank works best where shoppers already use mobile banking. Conversion depends on how well each bank handles the approval step, so check coverage in your key markets before you switch any volume.

What Volt costs
Volt quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.
- Settlement
- Real-time into the merchant's Volt account where the local instant scheme allows; payouts 24/7 in the UK and Australia
Pricing, in detail
No public pricing page (volt.io/pricing returns not found); pricing via sales.
What the last check found
Market coverage page was last updated February 2025; Liechtenstein is listed as a market with no rail named, and is included. Founders (Tom Greenwood, Steffen Vollert, Jordan Lawrence) come from Dealroom and a third-party review seen only in search snippets; those sources also report that Greenwood moved to a stablecoin spinoff (VX2) in September 2024 with Vollert as interim CEO; not verified, so the description names only Greenwood as a founder and no current CEO. Volt's merchant agreement reportedly cites KNF registration IP57/2023 alongside the ID 635816 shown on the regulatory page; a reviewer should check the KNF register. A FinTelegram article alleges Volt rails appeared in deposit flows for unlicensed casinos; it could not be fetched (403) and is not reflected in the listing. Industries come from Volt's own gaming, crypto and ecommerce pages (search results) and named partners (MoneyMatrix, Kinguin, Farfetch).
