Maestro is a global debit card brand from Mastercard offering PIN-based, real-time bank-funded transactions. Although being phased out in some regions, it remains widely accepted for POS and online payments through EMV authentication. Merchants benefit from secure, low-risk processing and direct bank account settlement. Ideal for markets with strong debit card usage, cross-border commerce, and customers preferring bank-to-card spending instead of credit products. Maestro was born out of the acquisitor of Eurocard by Mastercard.
