Peach Payments is a Cape Town payment gateway founded in 2012 by Rahul Jain and Andreas Demleitner. It sells online checkout, payment links and payouts to businesses in South Africa, Kenya and Mauritius, with offices in Cape Town, Nairobi and Moka. Apis Partners led its $31 million Series A in 2023. In April 2025 Peach agreed to buy PayDunya, a Dakar gateway working in six French-speaking West African countries, though we found no confirmation that the deal has closed.
The South African method list is long. Besides Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club, merchants can switch on Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay, Capitec Pay, Peach's own Pay by Bank, Scan to Pay QR codes, 1Voucher, crypto through MoneyBadger, and credit from Mobicred and RCS. Instalments come from Payflex, PayJustNow, Float, Happy Pay and ZeroPay. Kenya is narrower, with cards, M-PESA and PayPal, while Mauritius adds MCB Juice, blink by Emtel and MauCAS QR. Plug-ins cover WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, OpenCart and Wix, and invoices raised in Xero can carry a Peach payment link.
South African prices are published. On the Growth plan, local card payments with 3-D Secure cost 2.95% plus R1.50 and international cards 3.50% plus R1.50, while Pay by Bank and Capitec Pay cost 1.50% plus R1.50. The instalment brands run from 4.75% to 6.10% plus fixed fees, all before VAT. There is no setup fee, storing cards for repeat billing costs R200 a month, and settlement is daily on the next business day once a new merchant has traded for two weeks. Above R500,000 a month, businesses move to negotiated Enterprise pricing, and Kenyan and Mauritian rates are quoted on request.
Peach suits online retailers, subscription businesses and platforms that want many South African methods behind one contract. South African accounts settle in rand even when prices are shown in another currency.

What Peach Payments costs
Peach Payments quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.

What the last check found
Methods mapped to new terms: Peach's 'Pay by Bank' is its South African instant EFT product (all banks except Capitec), proposed as 'instant-eft'; MoneyBadger (crypto) mapped to 'crypto'. No licence or registration (SARB, PASA, Central Bank of Kenya, Bank of Mauritius) was found on Peach's pages or in coverage, so regulation is empty; a 2024 article quoted Peach as awaiting regulatory approval for payouts in Mauritius. PayDunya's markets (SN, CI, BJ, BF, TG, ML) and Eswatini (named in Peach's PayDunya release as a 2024 market) are not recorded: Peach's own country selector lists only ZA, KE and MU, and we found no confirmation that the PayDunya deal completed. Plug-in list (WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento 1 and 2, OpenCart, Wix, Xero) comes from Peach support and developer pages seen in search results; the support portal itself requires a login. Diners Club and PayPal are priced on request.
