Direct debit providers
Direct debit lets a merchant collect payments from a customer’s bank account under a mandate the customer signs once — ideal for subscriptions, memberships, utilities and invoices. SEPA Direct Debit in Europe, Bacs in the UK and ACH debit in the US are the main schemes. Costs and failure rates are low, but collections take a few days and customers have strong refund rights (eight weeks for any reason under SEPA Core).
