Getnet was founded in 2003 in Rio Grande do Sul by José Renato Hopf. Santander Brasil bought a controlling 88.5% stake in 2014 for about R$1.1 billion, floated the business on B3 and Nasdaq in October 2021, then took it private again through a tender offer completed in late 2022. It now sits inside Santander Payment Solutions, the renamed PagoNxt, and Getnet is the bank's acquiring brand in Latin America and Europe. Santander reports that Getnet processed more than €238 billion across 10.5 billion transactions in 2025 for about 1.2 million clients.
Brazil is the core market. Merchants choose Get Mini, Get Clássica or Get Smart terminals or Get Tap on a phone, with takings paid into a Get Conta business account. Online there is Get Checkout, with built-in fraud screening, and payment links that accept credit, debit, Pix, digital wallets and boleto. Card acceptance runs to more than 80 brands, Visa, Mastercard, Elo and American Express among them, and Pix works by dynamic QR code or contactless.
Brazilian prices are published for small merchants. Debit starts at 1.69% and single-payment credit at 3.69% when funds go to the Get Conta, while 12 instalments cost up to 12.88%. Terminals carry a monthly charge of R$14.90 to R$129.90 unless sales targets are met, and the entry payment-link plan charges R$1 per paid link.
Outside Brazil, Getnet acquires in Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay, as well as Spain and Portugal, and one integration connects its Latin American markets. In October 2026 Santander said the same approach now reaches more than 30 European countries, with Getnet a direct member of Bizum in Spain and MB WAY in Portugal. It suits merchants already banking with Santander or wanting one acquirer across Latin America and Iberia; terms outside Brazil are agreed case by case.

What Getnet costs
Getnet quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.

What the last check found
Countries are those named in Santander's own Getnet boilerplate (October 2026). The Paypers and the release body also mention Colombia as a market where Getnet's Latin American operations process transactions; it is not recorded because Getnet's boilerplate omits it. The 30+ European countries reached through the single integration are not listed by Santander and are not recorded. Currencies are the local currencies of the listed countries (inferred). Boleto is confirmed only for payment links; third-party SDKs also show boleto and Pix through the e-commerce API. The Getnet Brazil footer shows the CNPJ but no Banco Central statement; payment-institution status comes from Getnet's merchant contract (seen in search results) and press. Getnet Europe, Entidad de Pago, S.L. appears on Latvijas Banka's list of EEA providers with Spanish registration number B86621620 (seen only in a search snippet; the page now redirects), so the Spanish entry has no reference or URL. Santander reports '1.2 million clients'; the 2025 volume is total Getnet TPV. Delisting date: InvestNews dates the completed offer to 2 December 2022 but calls it a Thursday, so only 'late 2022' is used. The single global brand site (getnet.com) could not be reached.
