Lloyds Cardnet is the card acceptance service that Lloyds Bank sells to its business customers, and Bank of Scotland offers it under the same Cardnet name. It is a joint venture: Lloyds owns 51% and Fiserv, which now owns First Data, holds the other 49%. Lloyds handles sales through its business banking network, while Fiserv processes the transactions and supplies the products, including its Clover point-of-sale range. Cardnet has no employees of its own; both parents recharge it for the staff who run it.
It is a large operation. In 2025 Cardnet processed £57 billion of card payments, 10% more than a year earlier but still below the £66 billion of 2021, and debit cards made up about £41 billion of that. Net fee and commission income was £54 million.
Merchants can choose countertop and portable terminals, Clover devices, a mobile card reader, an online gateway with a hosted payment page or API, payment links and a virtual terminal for phone orders. Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, JCB, Discover and Diners Club are accepted, while American Express normally needs a separate agreement. Lloyds' online payments brochure lists Apple Pay and Google Pay on the gateway. Since a 2023 deal between Lloyds and Fiserv, Cardnet merchants can also offer dynamic currency conversion priced from Lloyds' wholesale foreign exchange rates.
Cardnet is aimed at UK businesses, and Lloyds or Bank of Scotland customers expecting under £500,000 a year in card takings can use a shorter online application. Transaction rates are quoted for each business, so compare the whole contract, including terminal rental, any minimum monthly charge and PCI compliance fees, before signing.

What Lloyds Cardnet costs
Lloyds Cardnet quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.
Pricing, in detail
Lloyds has a Cardnet prices page, but it could not be read (the site returned an error page to our checks). Transaction rates are quoted per business; no figures recorded.
What the last check found
All lloydsbank.com and Bank of Scotland Cardnet pages returned a bank error page to automated fetches, so product and legal details come from search-result snippets and independent reviews. Lloyds Bank plc FRN 119278 was read in Lloyds' own legal text as shown in search results (fscs_commercial.pdf and legal footers); the register entry itself was not reachable, so url is null. The entity that holds Cardnet merchant agreements was not confirmed: Cardnet Merchant Services Limited (Companies House 00735844, parent Lloyds Bank plc) and First Data Europe Limited (a third-party site gives FRN 582703, not verified) may be involved. Founding year not established (one review site says 1997, unverified). Settlement: MobileTransaction says standard payouts take 3–5 working days with paid next-day options (21p with a Lloyds account, 81p without); not confirmed first-party, so settlement_speed is null. UnionPay ('may be added') and PayPal (online add-on) are mentioned only by MobileTransaction and are left out. WooCommerce integration is via a third-party plugin (Autify Digital). Example quote figures in MobileTransaction (debit 1.06%, credit 1.4%) are not Lloyds' published prices and are not recorded.
