Atome is a buy now, pay later service that Advance Intelligence Group, a Singapore technology firm backed by SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Warburg Pincus and others, launched in Singapore in December 2019. It belongs to the group's consumer-credit arm, Atome Financial, which also offers cash loans and a BNPL card. In September 2026 Grab agreed to pay US$1.49 billion in cash for 60% of Atome Financial and to buy the remaining 40% about two years later. The first stage needs regulatory approval and is due to complete by the third quarter of 2027.
Shoppers split a purchase into three interest-free payments, and some retailers offer longer plans for a fee. Atome works online and in store, with partner brands that include Sephora, Zalora, Agoda, Samsung and Zara. At the time of the Grab deal it reported 25 million cumulative users and more than 30,000 brands across Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand. It shut its Hong Kong service in March 2023, so older lists of eight to ten markets are out of date.
In Singapore the operating company, Apaylater Financials Pte. Ltd., shows Monetary Authority of Singapore licence number PS20200511 as a major payment institution. In the Philippines Atome trades through Neuroncredit Financing Company Inc., a financing company regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Merchants can sign up with Atome directly, install its Shopify app, or enable it through PSPs such as Adyen, Airwallex, Omise and HitPay. Coverage depends on the route: Adyen offers Singapore and Malaysia only, while Omise adds Thailand.
The service is aimed at retailers in fashion, beauty, electronics and travel selling to younger shoppers in South-East Asia; it says 70% of its users are mobile-first Gen Z and millennials. Merchant fees and payout timing are not published, and per-order limits vary by market and by whether the shopper repays from a debit or credit card. Recurring payments are not supported.

What Atome costs
Atome quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.
Pricing, in detail
Atome does not publish merchant fees; PSPs that resell Atome set their own rates.
What the last check found
Countries follow the Grab deal coverage (SG, MY, PH, ID, TH). Atome's 2022 announcement listed eight markets including Hong Kong, Vietnam and mainland China; Hong Kong closed on 31 March 2023 and no current Vietnam, Taiwan, China or Japan service was found. Thailand rests on Omise's docs and the deal coverage only (atome.co.th did not resolve). The MAS licence number is from Atome's own footer; it was not checked on the MAS Financial Institutions Directory (a third-party directory lists it as an active MPI licence). No licences were found on the Malaysian or Indonesian sites (Indonesia is run by PT Mega Shopintar Indonesia). The Omise page sits under a '/japan' URL path but describes Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. HitPay's Atome page appeared in search results but was not fetched. The Grab acquisition (announced 15 September 2026) had not completed on the checked date; parent_company should change once it does. Merchant settlement timing and fees are not published. The Shopify app listing appeared in search results and was not fetched.
