HitPay is a Singapore payments company founded in 2016 for small and mid-sized merchants, backed by Y Combinator, Tiger Global, Global Founders Capital and HOF Capital. HitPay Payment Solutions Pte Ltd has held a Major Payment Institution licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore since June 2024, covering merchant acquisition and domestic and cross-border transfers. Its Philippine company is registered with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas as a payment system operator, and in Malaysia a subsidiary is registered with Bank Negara Malaysia as a merchant acquirer.
Merchants in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines get online checkout, payment links, invoicing, a shop builder and recurring billing, plus point-of-sale software, Tap to Pay, card terminals and a QR soundbox for the counter. Plug-ins cover Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Magento and Xero. Methods follow the market: PayNow and GIRO in Singapore; FPX, DuitNow, Touch 'n Go and Maybank QRPay in Malaysia; GCash, QR Ph, InstaPay, PESONet and over-the-counter cash in the Philippines. Visa, Mastercard, GrabPay, ShopeePay and WeChat Pay work in all three, and a cross-border option takes visitors' home methods such as UPI, LINE Pay and ZaloPay.
Fees are published per country, with no setup or monthly charge. In Singapore, PayNow costs 0.65% plus S$0.30 on payments of S$100 or more and domestic cards 2.8% plus S$0.50 online. Malaysian domestic cards are 1.2% plus RM1 and FPX 1.8% plus RM0.40, while local cards in the Philippines cost 3% plus ₱15. Payouts start from the next business day, though online card takings in the Philippines take seven days.
HitPay says more than 20,000 businesses across Southeast Asia use it. It fits small retailers and online sellers who want one account for in-person and online payments. Singapore merchants above S$50,000 a month can ask for custom pricing. HitPay is also registered in Australia and New Zealand, but its site names only Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines as markets.

What HitPay costs
HitPay quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.

What the last check found
HitPay holds registrations in Australia (AUSTRAC) and New Zealand (FSPR), and its site claims '10+ countries', but no source confirms merchant onboarding there, so only SG, MY and PH are listed as countries. All licence references come from HitPay's own licence page, not the regulators' registers. The Malaysian merchant-acquirer registration belongs to the subsidiary Mobiedge E-commerce Sdn Bhd and no BNM reference is given (the number shown is a company registration). Founders were not confirmed and are not named. 'LINE Pay' in HitPay's cross-border list is for Thai shoppers and is mapped to rabbit-line. Cross-border methods (UPI, LINE Pay, ZaloPay, VietQR, Korean wallets) are for accepting visitors' home methods, not for merchants in those countries. Over-the-counter payments in the Philippines are mapped to cash-payment; the partner outlets are not named.
