Viva.com, formerly Viva Wallet, is a Greek payments company founded in 2000. Since 2020 it has held a full banking licence, through its purchase of Praxia Bank, so it is supervised by the Bank of Greece. JPMorgan Chase took a minority stake in 2023. It acquires card payments itself, gives merchants a business account with a local IBAN, and pays out sales to that account in close to real time.
It sells mainly to small and mid-sized merchants. In store, its best-known product turns an Android phone or iPhone into a card terminal, alongside its own and third-party terminals. Online, a single hosted checkout (Smart Checkout) offers cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay plus local methods that change with the shopper's country: iDEAL, Bancontact, BLIK, Przelewy24, EPS, MB WAY, Multibanco, IRIS in Greece, BANCOMAT Pay in Italy, Swish, Trustly, Klarna and PayPal. The company advertises more than 40 online methods in all.
Viva now covers 29 European countries. Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and Slovenia were added in 2026, joining most of the EU, Norway and the UK. Prices are set by country and plan and shown when you sign up rather than in one public table. Merchants can also borrow against future card sales.
It suits shops, restaurants and service businesses in Europe that want acquiring, a business account and same-day access to takings from one provider. Larger merchants and higher-risk sectors should expect a fuller review. Some local methods are only offered online or only in certain countries, so check the list for yours.
What Viva.com costs
Viva.com quotes per merchant. What you are offered depends on your volume, your industry, the countries you sell in, your card mix and your risk profile — so a published headline rate would not be your rate. Ask them for a quote against your own numbers.

What the last check found
The 29-country list is reconstructed: the 24 earlier markets (Tap to Pay rollouts and Viva's country sites, Norway and Spain included) plus the five added in 2026. Payconiq and Bizum were not confirmed in first-party docs and are left out.
